unrelatedly, i can't stop watching this clip of christian kane on angel.

i just finished "hell's bells" and omg. poor, poor anya. and poor xander, too, for that matter. i cried like a total dweeb. i love anya ridiculous amounts. i hope they reconcile at some point (don't tell me!) because i adore them together. :(

so i get it now re: spike/buffy. i still love buffy/angel hardcore but spike/buffy is definitely not without its appeal. that sex scene in the bronze? holy guac, that was hot. i squeaked and then rewound it like 5x, ngl. and their scene together at the wedding was really awesome in a hurty kind of way. oh oh oh and the scene when buffy was invisible and xander walked in on them, and spike starts doing pushups in bed and buffy, like, squeaks beneath him? LOLOLOLOL.

is there ever any explanation given for why angel is SUCH a dick when he loses his soul but others like spike are kind of okayish? i know spike gets a soul at some point, which is good i guess, but i mean...idk. is it because angel was kind of a dick before he turned, whereas spike was a total sap? i mean, i realize spike a) has a chip, and b) loves buffy, so he's on good behavior, but angelus is soooo impossibly douchey (not that i don't enjoy him). just pondering!

oh, and i loved seeing riley again. the scar was hot and his wife was awesome.

first of all, i have to say that i LOVED the whole darla storyline. i hated her guts on buffy and found her super-annoying, but i adored her on angel even when she was a miserable bitch. and that sex scene she and angel had was HOT.

i predictably love wesley now, holy shit. he was another one who sucked on buffy and then came to LA and got all awesome.

FRED IS SO CUTE WTF. she and gunn are adorable but i want her/wesley like whoa. or a threesome. always an easy solution. XD oh and lorne is A++++++. j'adore!

i am underwhelmed by connor. at first i was all "OMG ANGEL AND HIS BB SO CUUUUUUUUTE" but seeing angel all dweeby and baby-talking 24/7 is kind of meh. however, holtz just dipped out with connor to the other dimension or whatever, so i'm assuming that means i'm in store for more angsty broody angel, which is just how i like him.

ALSO. is there going to be cordy/angel? i'm assuming there is? i do not really approve. i mean, i get it, and i love them both, but i'm just not feeling it. idk. their scene when they were possessed (or whatever) at the ballet was hot, but as themselves i love their friendship and i'd prefer it stayed that way. :/

CK is a complete and utter douche. i, unfortunately, have personal experience. i was a member of his unofficial(but also pretty official) site many, many moons ago when KANE was first trying to make it. CK and Steve Carlson chose to screw one of their other bandmates out of royalties and essentially kicked him out of the band so they wouldn't have to pay his family back for footing the bill on their first record. Mike Eaton was that band member. his family paid for studio time, promotion and cd printing. CK and Steve went behind his back and signed with another label(BrandX Mgmt).

there's so much more, but it would take too long to detail it all. that was bad fandom experience #1. bad fandom experience #2 involves Steve DeKnight(Buffy/Angel writer/producer). oh the stories i have to tell. *shakes head*

As far as Angel being a dick, he was known as a particularly vicious vampire. Giles points out that most kill just to eat, but he enjoys it. Rewatch the S1 ep where he kisses her and she finds out what he really is, there's a lot of Angelus explanation there.

There's a scene with that monster that Buffy blows up with the rocket launcher [bestest scene ever] where he puts his hand on Angelus and says that there's no humanity in him. Spike and Dru on the other hand...
Spike always had a little bit of a conscience, he helps out Buffy if it means getting Dru back [the scene where he meets Buffy's mom for the second time, "I'm in a rock band"], where most vampires, and definitely Angelus would have been more interested in killing.

yeah, i get that as far as vampires go, angelus is one of the worst. i guess i'm just curious why. does it have to do with who they were as a human, or is it a conscious choice, or do they get meaner with age, or...idk! but it's like...ok, angel has a soul, so as far as (mostly) everyone is concerned, he can't be held accountable for the things he does as angelus. which i understand, because when he's angel he's awesome. but, like, nobody really gives spike a pass, and spike is way less awful than angelus (but obviously not as "good" as angel). i guess it just serves the story better and i should just accept it. :P

ita with spike > angelus. i don't know if it has anything to do with them as a person, angel was kind of a drunken loser who couldn't live up to his father. spike was more romantic, although a dork. so i think each of them carried a little something into their vampire personalities... spike went from dork to cool and angel went from an immature boy to a man. but spike stayed a romantic and angelus still doesn't know when to quit.

spike/buffy <3333 There's never really an official explanation for the soulless angel being so different from soulless spike thing, but Spike was always different. Even when he was killing slayers and being evil, he really was in love with Drusilla. And he was really in love with Buffy, chip or no chip. When Angel is Angelus, his love is just a sick obsession.
I don't mean to sound all melodramatic here :D I'm just sayig, Angelus always was the .. more evil one ^^

I hated Darla on Buffy and I definitely liked her better on Angel, but I still didn't love her. I did already love Wesley on Buffy but it does not come anywhere near the love I have for him on Angel. He's become one of my favorite characters ever. Not only on the show, but ever.

I HATE ANGEL/CORDY UGH UGH UGH. For one thing I like them soooooo much better as friends, and it just... it's wrong. I was never a big Buffy/Angel shipper, so this is not about him falling for someone else. He can go off and have big fluffy love scenes with all of L.A. for all I care. But not with Cordy. It's just so so wrong.
That Ballet ep was one of the prettiest things I've ever seen though. Summer dancing in her tutu was just breathtaking. I need to watch Firefly again.

anya absolutely broke my heart. there is something so gut-wrenchingly sad about a bride left at the altar anyway, and i adoooore her, and man, it sucked. (of course, i just watched the ep where spike tries to rape buffy and tara gets shot which has now completely outstripped the suck of hell's bells. gah. bummed!!!)

i just think it's interesting, the differences between spike and angelus. like, angel talks about how he was incapable of loving darla (or anyone) when he had no soul, and i believe him. the way angelus treats buffy makes that abundantly clear. but spike says he loved dru, and he loves buffy, and i believe him, too. and i just wonder why. which, y'know, it's a tv show about vampires so i should probably just suspend my disbelief and accept that those differences better serve the story. i just find it interesting.

plus, it seems like way back when, angelus may have been evil but he had a little more control, and spike was really the one who wanted to watch the world burn, so to speak. now, spike has it more together but when angelus shows up he's ready to bring on the apocalypse.

i'm really not enthused about angel/cordy. i do looooove buffy/angel, but it's not that. i liked buffy with riley and i love her with spike, and i kind of wanted angel/kate, and i liked angel/darla even tho it was really fucked up. i was even ready to ship angel/fred. and honestly, i am almost always on board with the canon couples on my shows. but angel/cordy? idk. it just feels wrong to me. i love their friendship ridiculous amounts, and i think it's really beautiful, and turning it into a romance seems like it...not cheapens it, but tarnishes it somehow. sigh.
