ok, so i bought a pair of uggs today, and the girl at the store told me you're not supposed to wear socks with them. i am dubious about this.

i have faux uggs, but sometimes i wear socks and sometimes i don't. most of the time i don't. then they just feel like slippers, haha.

Agreed. I have a pair from Lands End and they're great without socks and have yet to get smelly.

But not SUPPOSED to? That makes no sense. What does the salesgirl think is going to happen if you do wear socks with them?

Edited to add: My Lands End ones do fine in slush and come with a lifetime warranty, so if anyone ever wants to replace their Ugg or fauxUggs that's what I'd suggest. They're awesome.

i never heard that before, wtf. and fyi, i know uggs are comfortable as hell, but they are not the best when handling snow and slush. :/ always bring an extra pair of socks with you because i can't tell you how many times my feet have been soaked when i wear my uggs.

Sometimes I wear socks (if it's freezing out), otherwise I don't. I personally prefer them without socks, I think it's more comfortable.

I have fuggs (faux uggs XD) and I feel reeeeeally weird wearing them without socks. IDK, I think I just have a thing for socks. But I definitely don't think its weird to wear socks with them. And then if your feet sweat, the socks get sweaty, not the shoes. And you can wash socks.

why would you NOT wear socks with them? I'm confused... I have fake uggs & I almost always wear socks (unless I'm throwing them on real quick to check the mail or something). although be careful WHAT socks you wear with them because if they are socks that are likely to scrunch down, it is super annoying/uncomfortable for them to scrunch down inside the boot :-/

Socks scrunching down inside boots (or any shoes really) is the WORST FEELING EVER. I'm so glad I am not alone in this.

I only started wearing socks with mine after the fur lining wore out. And, unless your feet sweat garlic and gangrene, your boots won't smell. this is ACTUALFAX from a beyotch who wears them.

one of the secretaries at work just had this discussion with some of the other women in the office. she was returning them because they were a bit tight (with socks i think, i can't remember)

i always wear mine (fake ones) with socks... i imagine they'd get sweaty and gross otherwise. also, as warm as they are, when i walk on snow i feel it and that's with socks.

Wow, I have never heard that before. I have fake uggs, and I always wear socks with them (but crappy ankle socks scrunch down, so be careful about that). They're so soft, but my feet do get cold without socks. And they kind of fail in slush, so my feet would get wet without socks!
