all my buffy-ing had me jonesing pretty hard for veronica mars, so i decided to rewatch the pilot just now for the first time in ages. god, i miss that show. aside from the amazing writing, which i always remember - i'd forgotten how pretty it was; all the noir stuff and interesting shots and colors and things. so fucking rad.

i uploaded the pilot in case anyone who hasn't seen it might want to check it out. and really, you should. S1 of veronica mars is about as close to a perfect season of television as it gets, imo. ♥

It is an amazing first episode, a really well done piece of work. I love the part where "weak become heroes" plays; they were so good at matching music to moments.

yeah, the music on VM was always pretty rad. one of the best for mood purposes, i think, was when they used "run" by air in that episode with meg's parents and the little sister and all that. and i still can't listen to "momentary thing" without getting all squishy.

I credit the show with really getting me into Old 97's, mostly in the episode where Duncan leaves.

And as much as I think Rob Thomas fucked up the third season, he kind of has my heart forever for incorporating "The Virgin Suicides" soundtrack, Neko Case, and Spoon into various episodes.

"Ashes," played at the end of 2.01, never fails to make me feel like some kind of badass.

oh man, I am still bitter about the spectacular fall this show took from fucking brilliant to total trash by Season 3. I have a couple friends who wanted to borrow my dvds, but I have to warn them that it goes downhill after a certain point, so they shouldn't expect that much :-/

yeah, i...i didn't mind S2 for the most part. i would've ditched a few storylines (comababy = all-time low) but overall there was enough good there to keep me mostly satisfied. S3 was a pretty big drag, tho (altho i totally dug mercer, lol). i gave up about midway through and i still haven't watched the last four or five eps.
