my offering for what i have dubbed the "come as you are meme."

should've picked a ~cuter~ day to do this, but whatevs, you may peep my new highlights! \o/
i've always been lazy, but i think my lethargy has reached critical mass, y'all. i just cannot bring myself to do anything productive. :/
in other news, gossip girl was mostly awesome this week, even if i'm a little sick of lord marcus (not even in a shipper way, just in a...BE MORE INTERESTING way) and fringe wasn't as good as the pilot, but it was definitely good and i was definitely into it and joshua jackson should definitely do me.
i almost bought dirty sexy money on DVD today, except then i remembered how i don't have any money, much less any which is dirty and/or sexy. D:
speaking of not having money, i want to go to this so, so badly, omg. i think tickets are going to be like $150? that's crazy, right? omfg i wanna goooooooo.
also speaking of not having money, i decided i'm getting my next tattoo on october 21. it's her birthday and that seems appropriate.
OCC!:

* take a picture of yourself right now.
* don't change your clothes, don't fix your hair... just take a picture.
* post that picture with NO editing. (re-size OK)
* post these instructions with your picture

Date: 2008-09-18 08:33 pm (UTC)oh, and Lord Marcus' "stepmom" scares the hell out of me.

Date: 2008-09-18 08:38 pm (UTC)hahaha, she's kind of a giant bitch, isn't she? i find her sort of amusing, tho. and i'm actually vaguely interested in nate for a change - the storyline with them is pretty much ridic but...idk, i find it entertaining anyway. and i think chace is becoming a marginally better actor, thank god.

Date: 2008-09-18 08:51 pm (UTC)On the topic of GG, I was underwhelmed this week. I was so, so, so excited after the premiere, and even last week was really strong, but like. The Dan/Serena stuff was melodramatic and lame (I say this, and I like them), but I thought the little Gossip Girl!groupies and the whole Chuck-speaks-with-a-British-accent thing were really smart ways for the writers to make fun of themselves.
The Chuck and Blair make outs were phenomenal, because damn do they have chemistry, but man. I didn't like that they set up Vanessa/Dan (even though that's what happens in the books, right?).
Basically, I want Lord Marcus and his evil bitch of a Duchess to GTF away from my show.

Date: 2008-09-19 06:46 am (UTC)the dan/serena stuff was melodramatic and lame, but i kind of liked how they realized that they can't just ignore all of their issues because they like making out. what B said to S was exactly right - they WERE just fooling themselves.
getting to hear ed westwick's accent kind of made the whole ep worth the price of admission. from a reality perspective i thought the little GG!groupies were pretty ridic, but from a watching-tv perspective, they were pretty riotous.
idk, i didn't read the books. or, i read, like, the first one, and yeah, i think there was dan/vanessa...maybe? (clearly, the book made a huge impression on me) but i'm not convinced that the show is going there. d/v have always had that kind of cuddly vibe. i guess we'll see.
i sort of like the duchess. well, i don't LIKE her, but as a character she's kind of amusing. and i could see her being sort of blair's ghost of christmas future, which could make for some interesting stuff. or not, because it's gossip girl and not dickens. :P

Date: 2008-09-18 09:15 pm (UTC)I looked up ticket prices for last year's David Wright Foundation fall event, and they were $350. :( I thought about coming up for that in November, until I saw that. :\

Date: 2008-09-19 06:47 am (UTC)oh, ugh. idk, my friend donna (oh wait, you met donna! duh) thought they were $150, but i'm not sure where she came up with that. if it's $150 i'll probably go - $350 = pretty much not gonna happen. :(

Date: 2008-09-19 10:03 am (UTC)The third annual “Do the Wright Thing” gala will be held on November 15th at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, NYC, beginning at 7pm.
This year’s event will include a special musical performance by Benji & Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, and honor Peter Liguori, the Chairman of Entertainment for the Fox Broadcasting Company.
Tickets are $350 per person ($200 of which is tax-deductible) and includes admission, unlimited food and beverage and gift bag. You must be 21 years old to attend.
The only thing that might be a saving grace is that last year's event was 21+, and this year it's 8+. ?? I dunno!
