because i am a ridiculous baby, i'm not watching the AI results live tonight. partially because i will be watching the office(!!!!!!!!!!!), but mostly because i am, as i've mentioned, a ridiculous baby.

so, a request: I ONLY WANT TO BE CONTACTED WITH GOOD NEWS RE: AI TONIGHT. if dcook is in the bottom and you're freaking out, please, don't tell me. i don't want to know. if he is safe and you're all \o/ a text is totally fine, but srsly, plz, don't text me all "OMG NOOOOOOOOO." if i haven't heard anything, i plan on peeking at the internet with one eye at 9:59 8:59.

in other, mildly related news, jacob really needs to get switched to a different show or something, omg. the mod note at the top of the dcook thread keeps getting longer and longer, lol. i mean, i know, I KNOW, twop is not a fansite, but jesus christ, he really just doesn't want people posting at all, i think. and it's stupid because other than being kind of fangirly, the thread is really fairly calm, idk. most of the stuff he mentions hasn't happened. it's weird.

If your post is mostly about the feelings that you have when you think about David Cook, what you would like to do to him, the exact date on which you finally realized your feelings about him, how many times you have watched him on the show or YouTube, or how conflicted you are about any the foregoing, just step away from the computer and chill out, because this is neither a fan club nor a support group. This thread is about David Cook -- not what's going on with your junk, or lecturing everybody that disagrees with you about how amazing he is.

The rules of the site haven't changed. Ever. They've always been this way. However, because of the activities of certain overzealous posters, this year and in years previous, you need to understand that this thread and a couple others are going to be patrolled more carefully and more strictly, because the crazy has broken out. There's not going to be a People's Republic of Cook. That's not happening. Feel free to go forth and start one elsewhere, but diversity of opinion on this site is a priority. If you can't handle that, it's really not the thread for you. Read the Site FAQ, read the forum Q&A threads, and keep this post in mind when you're commenting. Thanks.

Apparently the life span of an AI mod before being run foolish is three years max. Jakey boy is waaaaaaaaaaay past his expiration date.

Y'know? I was reading a recap he did...last week, because apparently it was really awesome or something, if you believe the stuff in the episode thread, and it was like he'd sipped some show haterade, or something. He's become so bitter about AI!

They need to keep the recappers and the mods completely separate, or something, because shows should never be recapped by someone that hates them, that just makes the recaps not fun to read.

I do agree with you. I found twop just as shack was leaving and it was the same way. I think someone at sucks made that comment - his recaps in season 3 were okay, but they weren't as good as the first two seasons because he just so obviously hated the show. And that is when his modding was the worst, as well. (Though I hear he was kind of an ass as it was.)

Difference is Shack either knew when to quit or found something better and move on. To Jacob quitting means defeat and his ego is too much to ever admit that. So we'll all be waiting for him to either finally find that book deal, or get fired/cut, for whatever reason. I've got my bets placed on get fired. And who knows how long that will take.

I know AI is a tough thing to mod, which is why I think there needs to be a separate mod for the boards, and the recapper shouldn't have modding privilege at all. Being a mod can suck the love of the show out of a person, but I think it is possible to just watch and recap and still keep that love (as long as you remember AI is one big cheese fest) - the guys over at EW do it pretty regularly.

I don't think she recaps anymore; she might stilll have network exec privilege though.
