i DIED when he said he loved her, and then when they had the confrontation at her party i died again, only in the opposite direction. i just...gah. THEY ARE KILLING ME.

Oh, easily. Summer and Taylor actually seem like friends, as opposed to the seemingly one-sided thing Marissa and Summer had. (though the fact that Summer said Taylor had never had or been to a birthday party makes me suspect I was right in thinking that little Summer totally screwed over little Taylor and didn't actually invite her to he b-day after Taylor gave Summer the mermaid poem!) Summer and Taylor actually help each other out with their problems (I got a kick out of Summer dropping by the Guap and feeling him out and dropping hints), whereas Marissa seemed to only hang out with her whenever she wasn't with the latest guy who's head she was screwing with and would listen to Summer just enough until there was a point in the conversation where she could start talking about her own problems and taking over.

Anyways, I liked the way they had him say it for the first time. The previews made it look like he was under the gun and just stammered it because he thinks that what she wants to hear, and it seemed like it might be going that way, but then when he looked at Drunk Taylor, he just knew, "I'm being an idiot, I totally love this girl." And always the hero, he's covering her body the whole time during the quake.

oh, man, i completely melted when ryan was being so protective during the earthquake. he's amazing.

i loved the original "i love you," too. i mean, i loved all of them, but that was so sweet. she was just babbling on in her taylor way, and he just knew. totally cute, and i loved how he brushed her hair out of her eyes right before he said it.

and yeah, summer and taylor feel more like actual friends than summer and marissa ever did. i don't know how much of it was the writing and how much of it was just mischa's lousy acting, but i just find the s/t friendship so much more believable and just...better. taylor improves everything, hee.

*squee!* I am completely and totally like Taylor when I'm in a relationship, and my last relationship was a lot like Ryan/Taylor in that my ex wasn't one for putting words to feelings, so I *squee*-ed aloud when Ryan said "I love you." Good for them.

One gripe I have about this show, though, is that it makes California girls look completely dumb. Even the smart ones like Taylor and Summer can sometimes come off as the smart version of a bimbo. We're not all like that, I swear! I am not a Noopsie!

So i wasn't the only one that cried? Phew...that is good to hear! But seriously, I loved this episode. I think that was the perfect way to have Ryan tell her he loved her. Like, it wasn't at a time when all her good apsect were in the spotlight, it was when she was at her worst, like he loves her spite of(and maybe even for) all the crazy things she does.

God, i loved this episode, I even cried during the earthquake. With all the men protecting there women. *sigh*
