guys, i need help. i'm about two seconds away from picking up my computer and throwing it out the window. srsly.

i was all happy that i had a shiny new computer...and then i discovered that i can't seem to use torrents anymore. this page basically says that windows vista screws up utorrent and includes some instructions on how to make it work. sadly, i don't understand. can anyone translate this into normal-person language? particularly this bolded bit: "1) Hardset your ip to a local address (192.168.0.2 or something) and Open uTorrent and start downloading something."

that sucks, although i'm glad to know it now before i have vista and find out the hard way (now if i could only find out when the vista upgrade is being shipped. contacting microsoft apparently requires knowing the passwords to nuclear silos)

hehe, don't worry about it. the most obvious solutions sometimes aren't lol.

hope they help, but i'm going to keep looking just in case since i'll probably run into this problem.

how is vista, btw? does it work with most programs?
