I totally see what you're saying. I've gotten a lot better over the years about just buying stuff. I used to be way more into just finding downloads and not bothering. But now? I'm totally about shelling out the cash. (With my favorites, I usually even buy an iTunes copy and then go out and buy a hard copy.)
What bothers me most is the "fans" who say 'Oh! They have enough money, I'm not giving them anymore! I'm just downloading!' So. Stupid. Why would you not support someone so they can make MORE music? IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO FIGURE OUT THE FLOW CHART TO THIS PROCESS, PEOPLE.
