so.
i slept in this morning (as i do most days), which was lovely. i was warm and cozy because we just got new flannel sheets, we have two comforters on the bed and i slept in two(!) hoodies. i woke up, checked my mail on my phone, stared at the ceiling, and played a few games of scrabble on my iphone, not really wanting to get out of bed because of the aforementioned warm and cozy feeling. while i was playing scrabble, jester (that'd be the cat) was making all sorts of noise, like, running around under the bed and banging into things. which i thought was weird, but sometimes he just gets fired up for no real reason. i called to him a couple of times, but he ignored me, so i went back to my scrabble.
finally i decided to get out of bed, so i got out from under the covers and climbed out, and then i see jester by the door to the bedroom looking all pounce-y. so i'm like, okay, whatever. then i get closer, and of course i'm not wearing my contacts and my glasses are in the bathroom so i can't really see, but i see that he's got something he's kind of tossing around. and then i get closer and i see that it's moving. because it's a mouse.
D:
i wigged and called scott, who wouldn't come home from work to rescue me, lol. i managed to distract jester with a ribbon and trap the mouse under an overturned little trash can from the den. i slapped a book on top of it and shut the door to the room. he's still in there and will remain there until scott gets home, because eek! :( i'm hoping he has enough air under there. i don't actually know what kind of shape he's in or if he'll make it, but i'm too creeped out to try any heroic measures.
dude, i've never actually seen a cat play with a mouse before. when people referred to "game[s] of cat and mouse" or whatever, i just thought...like. i don't know. i know it's his nature and i'm over it now, but i was actually mad at the cat. the poor mouse kept trying to, like, hobble away and then he'd grab it again and just...lfjld;gflg AWFUL. :((((((((
SO THAT WAS MY MORNING.
in other news, i finished S4 of buffy and S1 of angel. love! angel is so funny, both the show and the character, and it's awesome because angel was never funny on buffy, really. and make no mistake, i looooooove him all tortured and brooding (that's kind of my favorite sort of boy, at least on tv), but some of the stuff on angel makes me shriek with giggles. it's awesome.
now a few things which i will spoiler-cut because even though angel ended a billion years ago, lara hasn't watched it yet and i don't want to spoiler her for stuff she might not know about. there's also some random buffy stuff in here and it all got a little teal deer, so sorry! XD
( we help the helpless. )
ETA: OH ALSO. has anyone noticed how often microphones dip into frame on these shows? i swear i've noticed it at LEAST four times and i NEVER see that kind of thing.
