EDIT: I FEEL SO ALONE. :( i hate them. when i was a reporter we didn't use them and now they look terribly clumsy to me.

There isn't a 'sometimes' option! I use it when it makes the sentence clearer. I'm sure it's worse to use it sometimes than to just pick a side, LOL. But I can't help it!
