random: did anyone notice that in the first girl's audition (tatiana?), simon a) told her "i don't think you're as good as you think you are" and b) said "OB-noxious" after she walked out. does that remind anyone of anything?

fwiw, i liked her. her voice was nice and i thought she was kind of hot.

the single dad seemed nice, sweet story, but i thought he was boring. :/

aussie guy was hot but i thought he was way way way OTT on the otis song. the stuff on his myspace seems ok.

i was prepared to hate david the 16-year-old, because he's already been getting pimped, but he was so goofy and adorable that i couldn't. i had the paula reaction and totally wanted to squish him. i know he won star search a couple of years ago and i imagine he'll do well on idol as well.

i really want to like carly, since i know she's another one who'll be pimped (i remember them pimping her before S5 started) and i always like anyone irish, but i pretty much hated her singing and i'm still recovering from the suck of her music video from when she was on geffen. on the plus side, her husband is lovely, even tho i hate facial tats.

i've been looking at the rumored top 50 list a little bit and so far i'm interested in josiah leming 'cause he seems like a fun hot mess piano spaz and he sang "grace kelly" in hollywood, and michael sanfilippo 'cause he's pretty in a weird, angular way and his band sounds like something i would listen to on purpose.

mostly? i miss blake.

EDIT: speaking of mr. bshorty, when he said in this interview that if he could've sung any U2 song on idol, he would've wanted to do "sunday bloody sunday," i totally flailed. i guess "imagine" was the closest he managed to get. ♥

as i've been watching idol so far this season, i always find myself wondering why i just don't care as much anymore. now i know it's because there will be zero blake this season :(

i'm hoping maybe once hollywood rolls around people will get more interesting. because so far, nobody's really wowed me. and i fell in love with blake pretty much instantly. ♥

I totally squealed at that! I was like, hmm, I've heard THAT before!

I agree about David Archuleta, but his voice worries me. He sounded like he was straining when he was simpling talking.

Have you seen this video of him at age 12 singing "And I'm Telling You" to Kelly Clarkson and the other S1 Idols? He was AMAZING back then. Kelly LOVED him! It's unfortunate the vocal paralysis happened and affected his voice. :( Hopefully he can pull through and do well because he is adorable and talented.

you know, i hate the fact that they seem to have so many ringers this year and that they're working so hard to correct all of last year's mistakes, because i really enjoyed last season and i'm afraid that this year they're going to be all "see, last year's contestants were just soooo awful" and then i'm going to stab people in the face.[/rant]
