holy fuck, you guys. there is some CRAZY SHIT going on with britney spears right now, are y'all watching this?

she refused to hand over her kids to k-fed and now she (and jayden) have been rushed to cedars-sinai in ambulances.

i hope everyone's ok. or, i mean, ok-ish. you know. god.

(on a less concerned note, this whole thing has been dubbed "hostage brituation 08" which is fucking fantastic, tbh.)

EDIT: jesus christ. i have no idea how valid this is, but one of the maintainers at ONTD got a call from someone at the hospital.

THE SOURCE SAID THAT - WHILE BEING TRANSPORTED DOWN THE HALLWAY AFTER HER ARRIVAL - BRITNEY WAS SCREAMING THAT SHE WOULD RATHER DIE THAN "LET HIM HAVE MY BABIES." AFTER REPEATEDLY SCREAMING THAT SHE WANTED TO DIE, BRITNEY WAS APPARENTLY RESTRAINED BY HOSPITAL STAFF AND MAY HAVE BEEN SEDATED.

Yeah, it's called HIPPA. Big fines, jail time, lawsuits, but then it'd be tough to pin it on one person if she was screaming it for all the hospital staff to hear.

I just feel so sad for her. Yeah, she's responsible for her actions at this point, but man someone did a number on her and she never really got to grow up and now she's so fucked up it's not even funny. I feel like someone should make her move home to Louisiana and stay away from the paps and just be normal for awhile. She never got to do that.

god this whole sitch is so fucked up. i keep refreshing my flist just waiting for the post that says she killed herself or something. it seems like it's that bad to me.

and the worst part? my fiance and i were talking about her earlier and we both agreed that she would probably have been FINE if the papanazi's hadn't made her the scapegoat for everything...i truly believe that the whole "cult of celebrity" bullshit has made her insane.

To think, back in high school my friends and I snarked on her constantly. We all hated her, but we just kind of assumed she'd be the next Madonna and dominate the airwaves *forever*...The funny thing is, she kind of has dominated the airwaves, but not for anything worth talking about. The saddest part about all of this is that so much of the blame has to be laid on the paparazzi machine that promotes voyeurism and shuns privacy. To be honest, I never wanted to know what kind of milk Hayden Pannetierre drinks or how many minutes Brad Pitt stood outside an airport...knowing that stuff just seems sick and kind of wrong to me. They're not friends, they never will be and even if they were, why on earth would I want to know what they're doing every minute of the day? I'd never spy on friends to find out that stuff...that would be twisted, so why is it socially acceptable to care this much about celebrities? /rant
